A few questions have come up regarding the competition, which we are happy to address:
1. No films that were uploaded after the deadline were eligible in the voting. There were a couple of films which were uploaded in the system prior to the deadline (as confirmed by the software's tracking function on the back end) but had problems displaying which took our technical team a bit of time to sort out, so they may have "appeared" to the public side of the competition after the deadline.
2. On the issue of length, 2 - 5 minutes was provided as a guideline - and it was meant as just that: a guideline. This was in no sense a hard and fast rule (i.e. if you go over five minutes you are disqualified); several people took the initiative to inquire about that and were advised as such. The longest film that finaled is six minutes and seven seconds; the idea here is that the films be short, watchable, and compelling. We did see some submissions that were quite long, but the voting community - which consisted of the public - did not select those films.
3. Any film submitted prior to the deadline is acceptable, and each one tells its own story of entrepreneurs from around the world. We believe that positive images of entrepreneurs are an important component of achieving real change with respect to enterprise solutions to poverty. Some of these videos came out of emerging markets; others come from more developed nations. Each is valid and compelling in its unique sense.
We are grateful for the participation in this competition, and appreciate your feedback. We take all comments into consideration when designing future competitions.
